Got to try out Venus Cafe in Newark recently and ordered a basic brisket rice noodle soup. The flavor was deep as expected, broth comforting, and meat super tender/juicy. My partner's half-half baked pork chop rice was actually a sizeable + hearty portion--perfect post-workout. Love that the interior was clean and casual with its HK decor. Parking was free and easy in the plaza lot. Adding this to my ever-growing list of cha chaan tengs in the area--thanks to my friend Aishi for the rec

Their Hainan chicken is the best in town! Other food is okay. I like how hard working the waiter and waitresses are. They literally run around to serve you and are very efficient.

I did takeout from New Venus HK Café in Newark and was really pleased. The Shrimp and Scrambled Eggs, Chow Fun, and Sweet and Sour Pork were all flavorful and well-prepared — true Hong Kong-style comfort food. Portions were generous, prices fair, and the food held up well for takeout. Service was friendly, even during the busy lunch rush. Definitely one of the best Chinese fast-food spots in the area!

We got the oyster beef with rice and the hainan chicken. Both came with your choice of milk tea or lemon ice tea and a soup. The tea though a standard sweet lemon iced tea was surprisingly quite good and refreshing if I do say so myself. I'm not sure if it was the sugar or lemons or if I just haven't had lemon ice tea in a long time but either way it wasn't bad. The soup had tomatoes and cabbage and was slightly sweet and sour. It wasn't really my thing. Now on to the entrees. The hainan chicken was okay. The portions were a bit small chickenwise but it also came with two scoops of yellow rice and some peanuts on the side and some vegetable I did not try. Flavorwise it was only okay not too special. The entire meal was like a wannabe bentos box. The beef was very good. It was saucy and slightly sweet with a good amount of mushrooms. The beef was tender and complemented by a side of rice. I would recommend. That's all folks.
